DEI (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion)

For centuries, communities have used these principles to explore meaningful ways to create a more just, fair and compassionate society. By actively living out these values, our community can ensure every child is respected and given the opportunity to thrive.

Here are the Merriam-Webster’s definitions of these community values:

Inclusion – the act or practice of including and accommodating people who have historically been excluded or marginalized.

Equity – fairness or justice in the way people are treated.

Justice – the quality of being just, impartial, or fair; conformity to truth, fact, or reason.

Just – having a basis in or conforming to fact or reason; acting or being in conformity with what is morally upright or good; legally correct.

Diversity – the state of having people who are of different races or have different cultures in a group or organization.

*We define Equity to mean: All (not some) children in our community are safe, supported and respected.
